The Art Of Movement - Boxing

Flexiseq wants to inspire people to get moving because the body, which can do seemingly impossible things, is never something to be taken for granted.

The Art Of Movement series is a collection of photo essays about people who thrive upon using their joints, bodies and movement to do the things they love.

Lesley Sackey is an ABA British Boxing Champion who set up her fitness scheme The Boxing Boutique to help her clients understand the physical and mental disciplines that boxing teaches you.

I didn’t like the idea of the gym. My friend suggested I try the local boxing gym. I wanted to get fit but I wasn’t really into sport.

I started doing well in competitions my commitment changed. My perspective shifted, I was enjoying it and doing well so it stopped being something I felt I should do and became something I wanted to do.

It is
a total body workout, you apply lots of different disciplines from cardio to strength and conditioning.

There’s a misconception about boxing that it is an aggressive and dangerous sport. But key to any boxing training is to control the aggression.

Courage is a universal thing. Gender and age are irrelevant, it takes courage for anyone to step into the ring.

ou don’t have to compete in the ring to appreciate boxing.
